Plaster is the single largest visual influence on the pool aesthetic
One of the few pool contractors who will offer affordable underwater plaster and cement repair options. A lot of very intelligent people even have a hard time understanding how cement can be done underwater- it is not always easy and this is why not many contractors even offer it. Aquadoctor proudly offers it when applicable and have refined our process over many repairs. The most common area this is helpful is with a leak in the floor or drain of a pool when it prevents a full draining of the pool to fix it. This is one of many ways we are able to save our customers big on their water bill.
A full replaster is necessary on some occasion and would qualify as a remodel (systemic delamination, structural cracking, and overall wear/age of the finish), and if this is requested or required, we have great local plaster specialists to do the job right.
This is the result of delamination, a very common cause for a pool remodel or plaster company to recommend a delamination repair. When pools are repeatedly replastered and the layers are put on top of each other, delamination can become a larger issue over time if there isn't a proper bond coat or chip out during prep. Aquadoctor has options to patch some plaster issues entirely underwater or with a partial drain after demo-ing the loose plaster. This customer paid for the upgraded material for the underwater application and as close as possible match. You can definitely see that a patch is not a perfect match but it is a lot better looking than the original delaminating plaster.
A white patch is by far the cheapest and quickest patch to do and if it's a small area or matches existing finish, it may be the simplest option to fix the issue until a full replaster is performed.
