-Engineer and former pool construction superintendent owned and operated. No criminal record lead techs or religious marketing schtick required. The pool business has a very high turnover rate and it is rare a license holder performs the work or even sees the job- not with Aquadoctor, unless this is updated, it's every job and customer.
-An expensive repair such as light niche and skimmer replacements are seldomly the only leak solution. If a company presents the leak repair as such, get a second opinion. We have saved many customers a lot of money by helping avoid the excess expenditure on leak repairs. There are many honest pool contractors but also many repair poachers who won't think twice upselling an extra skimmer replacement that could have been fixed much cheaper and just as reliably. Sometimes this is done out of process/incompetence and guessing but sometimes it is systematic and how some pool leak techs are trained to ensure a bonus and covering of overhead expenses for a large company operation.

If you hired a leak company who didn't dive your pool, we follow up elbow deep leak detection companies a lot- they tend to miss things they don't check for such as drains and light niche leaks.

Even simple pool repairs often run in the thousands so if you're buying a home with a pool, it's the smartest investment you can make to fully understand any issues and negotiate with the realtors and anticipating any future pool repair related expenditures. We use the same testing process for inspections that we use for pool leaks with the main difference being we will confirm all equipment is operational and provide a more detailed report for inspections than a standard leak detection report.
Pool lights and light niches are one of the most common and hardest to deal with leak sources in a pool. Aquadoctor Leak Detection specializes in light niche and conduit leak repair and also offer multiple options for fixing or patching light niches. The cost to replace a light niche these days is around $2500 and we RARELY recommend this repair for many reasons listed in the BLOG section of this website. Aquadoctor uses some trade secret repair methods and also seals off light conduits every job we can access them on regardless of if this is the leak source because we want to elinimate this leak source before you have to spend hundreds on another leak detection just to have another leak company out to seal off the conduit (probably the wrong way- we see it all the time and have to fix their work often)
Performing a dye test on a skimmer, checking for cracks in the tile grout and evidence of previous repair. SKIMMERS SHOULD NEVER HAVE CHLORINE TABLETS IN THE BASKET- THIS CAN CAUSE ISSUE WITH THE PVC GLUE AND PLUMBING CONNECTIONS LONG TERM. This means more work for leak detection companies but please be advised this is not a best practice. We always dive and dye test our jobs as this is the only way to find a pool leak.
